The Waldorf STVC KEYBOARD string Synthesizer and Vocoder is a powerful evolution of the classic Streichfett String Synthesizer, now combined with a smooth-playing, aftertouch-enabled 49-note keybed and expanded functionality. Housed in an all-metal chassis with pitch bend and modulation wheels, the STVC features an OLED display for clear navigation and provides access to 126 programmable patches across three banks. A new Vocoder function brings outstanding speech intelligibility, freeze mode, full polyphonic carrier, and gender modification for expressive vocal processing.

Next Generation String Machine

Inspired by the vintage string synthesizers of the late 70s and early 80s, the STVC captures the lush, warm textures and turns them into modern creative tools. From shimmering solo tones to massive layered ensembles, it delivers a wide range of sound and character. Built-in effects and full MIDI/USB connectivity make it easy to integrate into both live and studio setups.

Strings Section – Rich, Morphing Pads

The Strings section allows smooth morphing across five sound styles and layered voices with a single knob. Additional Crescendo (attack) and Release controls help shape the envelope, while the Ensemble control introduces classic string-machine chorus effects or a combination for added depth and dimension.

Solo Section – Expressive Leads and Bass

The Solo section includes a continuously variable tone control to morph between five classic synth voices for basses, leads, and expressive textures. A Tremolo knob adds movement, while dedicated envelope controls (attack, release, and two decay/sustain options) provide flexibility from sharp percussive hits to sustained pads. The Split control lets you assign any key as the divide point, effectively giving you two instruments in one performance.

Effects Section – Creative Sound Sculpting

Three onboard effects – Animate, Phaser, and Reverb – expand the sonic palette. Animate applies LFO modulation to the Strings registration for evolving textures, Phaser adds shimmering movement with adjustable intensity, and Reverb delivers lush spatial depth. A Memory section provides 12 user slots for storing custom patches.
