The Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick (K.O.-SIDEKICK, EP136) is a two-channel DJ mixer, USB-C audio interface and effects processor in one battery-powered unit. It mixes two stereo sources plus an aux input with dual-channel beat-match, records to a computer at 8 in / 4 out, adds six performance effects, and weighs 10.6 oz.

Plug in an EP-133 K.O. II, EP-40 Riddim, Pocket Operator, synth or phone on the two 3.5 mm channel inputs, shape each channel with three EQ styles and a compressor, and play the effects from the pressure-sensitive force pad and mod stick. Motion control records a 2-bar loop of your effect moves and plays it back.

What does the K.O. Sidekick do?

It is a small mixer for two stereo sources plus an aux input, with EQ, compression and performance effects on top, and it doubles as a USB-C audio interface, so you can record both channels into a computer at 8 in / 4 out.

Does it work with the EP-133 K.O. II and Pocket Operators?

Yes. Any device with a 3.5 mm stereo output plugs into a channel input, including the EP-133 K.O. II, the EP-40 Riddim and any Pocket Operator.

Does the K.O. Sidekick run on batteries?

Yes. It runs on two AAA batteries, or on USB-C power at 5 V and at least 1 A.

K.O. Sidekick or TX-6?

The K.O. Sidekick mixes two stereo channels plus aux, connects at 8 in / 4 out over USB-C and runs on AAA batteries. The TX-6 mixes six stereo channels, records 12 channels to a computer or WAV files straight to a USB drive, adds a built-in synth and sequencer, and runs about 8 hours on its rechargeable battery. Pick the K.O. Sidekick for two devices, the TX-6 for a bigger setup.

Can I add a microphone?

Yes. The EP-2350 FX mic has a 3.5 mm line output on a curly cable and connects to a mixer channel like any other line source.
