Nikon 7×50 Action Binoculars NIAC7X50

The Nikon ACTION 7×50 Binoculars are versatile Porro-prism binoculars designed for birdwatching, wildlife observation, hiking, camping, sightseeing and spectator sports. Combining steady 7x magnification with large 50 mm objective lenses, a generous 7.1 mm exit pupil and Nikon multilayer-coated optics, they provide bright and comfortable views across a variety of outdoor conditions. Long 19.6 mm eye relief, turn-and-slide eyecups, a durable aluminium-alloy body and protective rubber armouring make them well suited to extended everyday observation.

Stable 7x Magnification

The ACTION 7×50 provides fixed 7x magnification, offering a useful balance between subject enlargement and handheld stability. Lower magnification makes small hand movements less noticeable than with higher-powered binoculars and also provides a relatively broad field of view for locating and following moving wildlife or sporting action.

This makes the 7×50 configuration particularly suitable for relaxed nature observation, hiking, sightseeing and other situations where a steady view is important.

Large 50 mm Objective Lenses

The 50 mm objective lenses gather a substantial amount of light, supporting bright viewing in a range of outdoor conditions. Combined with the relatively modest 7x magnification, the optical system produces a large 7.1 mm exit pupil.

This makes the binoculars particularly comfortable for observation around dawn, dusk, shaded areas and other situations where available light is lower than during bright midday conditions.

7.1 mm Exit Pupil and High Relative Brightness

The ACTION 7×50 provides a 7.1 mm exit pupil and a relative brightness value of 50.4. These specifications reflect the combination of the large 50 mm objectives and 7x magnification and contribute to the binoculars’ bright viewing characteristics.

Actual perceived brightness also depends on ambient light, the user’s eyesight and other viewing conditions.

Nikon Multilayer-Coated Optics

Nikon applies multilayer coatings to the optical surfaces to improve light transmission and reduce unwanted reflections. This helps provide clear, high-contrast views with natural-looking colours when observing wildlife, landscapes and other outdoor subjects.

112 m Field of View at 1,000 m

The binoculars provide a real angular field of view of 6.4 and an apparent angular field of view of 42.7. At a distance of 1,000 m, the visible scene measures approximately 112 m across.

This makes it easier to locate subjects and follow birds, wildlife and other moving objects without requiring constant repositioning of the binoculars.

Long 19.6 mm Eye Relief

The ACTION 7×50 provides 19.6 mm of eye relief, giving users a comfortable distance between the eyepieces and their eyes while maintaining a clear field of view. Nikon specifically designed the fixed-magnification ACTION series, with the exception of the 16×50 model, with long eye relief to improve viewing comfort for users who wear glasses.

Turn-and-Slide Eyecups

Turn-and-slide rubber eyecups provide multiple click positions so users can adjust the distance between their eyes and the eyepieces. This helps users with or without eyeglasses position their eyes at the appropriate eyepoint for comfortable viewing.

Central Focusing System

A large central focusing wheel adjusts both optical channels simultaneously and provides convenient control when switching between subjects at different distances.

The minimum focusing distance is approximately 8 m, making the binoculars best suited to medium- and long-distance observation.

Durable Aluminium-Alloy Construction

The ACTION 7×50 uses an aluminium-alloy body to provide structural strength while maintaining a practical weight for portable outdoor use. Textured rubber armouring surrounds the body to improve grip and provide additional protection against everyday knocks and bumps.

Ergonomic Outdoor Design

Nikon redesigned the ACTION series with an emphasis on secure handling and comfortable operation. The contoured body, textured armour and prominent centre focusing wheel are intended to make the binoculars easy to hold and adjust during longer observation sessions.

Adjustable Interpupillary Distance

The distance between the eyepieces can be adjusted from approximately 56 to 72 mm. This allows users to align both optical channels with their eyes and obtain a comfortable single circular image.

Optional Tripod Mounting

The ACTION 7×50 can be mounted to a suitable tripod using an optional Nikon TRA-2 or TRA-3 tripod adapter. Tripod mounting can provide additional comfort and stability during extended observation sessions.

The tripod and tripod adapter are optional accessories and are not included with the standard binocular package.

Designed for Outdoor Observation

The combination of 7x magnification, large 50 mm objectives, long eye relief and durable construction makes the ACTION 7×50 suitable for birdwatching, nature observation, hiking, camping, sightseeing and spectator sports.

Please note that this standard ACTION 7×50 should not be confused with the Nikon ACTION EX 7×50 CF. Nikon does not list the standard ACTION 7×50 as waterproof or nitrogen-filled, while the separate ACTION EX model is specifically designed with waterproof and fog-resistant construction.
