The Milesight GS301 is a LoRaWAN bathroom odour detector designed to monitor ammonia (NH) and hydrogen sulphide (HS) concentrations in real time, helping facilities respond to deteriorating air conditions in washrooms and similar spaces. The GS301 combines ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, temperature and humidity sensing in one device. Ammonia and hydrogen sulphide are common contributors to unpleasant washroom odours, allowing the sensor to provide measurable information that can support more responsive cleaning and ventilation strategies.

Ammonia and Hydrogen Sulphide Detection

Solid polymer electrochemical sensing provides a 0 to 10 ppm measurement range for ammonia and a 0 to 5 ppm range for hydrogen sulphide. Both gas sensors have a specified accuracy of 5% FS between -40C and 35C, while resolutions of 0.01 ppm for NH and 0.001 ppm for HS support detailed concentration monitoring. Milesight recommends operating the gas sensors below 35C.

Threshold Alarms and Ventilation Control

Customisable thresholds allow the GS301 to react when ammonia or hydrogen sulphide concentrations reach configured levels. Events can activate the built-in buzzer and status indicator while transmitting data through LoRaWAN. Milesight D2D can additionally communicate directly with compatible Milesight equipment with a response time below one second, supporting applications such as automated ventilation control.

LoRaWAN Connectivity

The GS301 is compatible with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers and supports OTAA and ABP activation in Class A mode. Milesight specifies transmission distances of up to 2 km in urban areas and up to 15 km in rural areas, although actual wireless range depends on buildings, interference, gateway placement and other deployment conditions. NFC provides convenient local configuration using the Milesight ToolBox mobile application.
