The Gruv Gear FUMP5-BLK is a simple yet highly effective muting accessory designed to deliver that classic old-school bass tone without the need for palm muting. By sliding over the strings near the bridge of your 4- or 5-string electric bass, it instantly creates a tight, staccato sound reminiscent of vintage and upright bass styles, freeing up your playing hand for greater expression and control.

Developed as a natural evolution of Gruv Gears popular FretWraps, the Fump offers a cleaner and more convenient alternative to stuffing foam under the strings. It installs in seconds, can be inserted from the top or bottom, and requires only minimal space between the pickup and bridge. With no moving parts, it delivers consistent performance while remaining easy to use in both live and studio environments.

Designed with practicality in mind, the FUMP5-BLK can be quickly removed and clipped onto your strap or music stand when not in use. It works best on setups with little to no fingerboard radius, providing optimal contact for effective muting. Whether you’re exploring vintage tones or experimenting with new techniques, its a versatile tool for shaping your bass sound with ease.
